Background
On May 3, 2005, Indiana Secretary of Commerce Patricia R. Miller and Bloomington
Mayor Mark Kruzan announced the state certification of the City of Bloomington’s
Certified Technology Park (CTP), a partnership between the City of Bloomington
and Indiana University (IU). The CTP encompasses the IU Research Park
and inVenture, the community’s business incubator. The City of Bloomington
and IU have a tremendous opportunity to leverage the CTP as a vital component
of the community’s economic development strategy. To effectively
leverage this economic development tool, the City of Bloomington hired
Ginovus to develop a tactical plan to rapidly deploy and actively promote
the Bloomington CTP.
On September 21, 2006, Mayor Mark Kruzan announced
a multi-year action plan for the City of Bloomington's Certified Technology
Park. The plan is the culmination of a six-month planning process facilitated
by Ginovus, LLC, and led by an advisory board chaired by the Mayor.
